![]() "PRINCES SHALL COME OUT OF EGYPT. ETHIOPIA SHALL STRETCH FORTH HER HANDS UNTO GOD."-PSALM 68:31 Our Lord and Savior Jesus has blessed us all in so many ways, that it is sometimes difficult for us to comprehend it all. But, let us try. God in His infinite wisdom has bestowed upon us 70 acres of land in Haliburton Canada, which we are converting into an Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Monastery. In order for us to be successful, we need your help and your prayers. For without you, we can not be completely successful. This Monastery has been named after St Tekle Haimanot, who was able to unite all of the various Ethiopian ethnic groups under the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. This was indeed a great and difficult task. This Monastery is patterned after the life of St Anthony the Great, who gave up all of his earthly wealth, to become a monk. It was St Anthony the Great, who established the first monastery. Just as St Anthony established the first monastery, with God's help we will establish one of the first Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Monasteries in the Western Hemisphere. The St Tekle Haimanot Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Monastery will be like a beacon light to all of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Churches, in the Western Hemisphere. The Monastery will be like the glue, that holds everything together. Eventually, there will be 7 monks, stationed at he Monastery. They will be praying 7 times a day. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be given everyday at 9:00am. The Sacrament of Unction of the Sick(healing), will be performed everyday. All of these blessings have come to us, under the Apostleship of His Eminence Abune Yesehaq, the Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in the Western Hemisphere and Southern Africa. Let us give thanks! ![]() |
